Let's see here. No Duraglass or steepling, possibly pre-1940. Is there a dot beside the 2 on the right of the symbol? If there is then it is a 1942, if not then it is a 1932. Don't know about any Hebe brand sodas though.
Hebe is the goddess of youth in Greek mythology. Also, I believe it is a derogatory term for jewish peoples. I think the term on the bottle is for the former?
"Caproni Bros.
Giovanni Caproni was a grocer at 39 Spruce Street before he began selling liquors at 100 Spruce Street in Providence circa 1891. He and his brother Enrico became Caproni Bros., bottlers and manufacturers of all kinds of mineral waters, at 10-12 Spruce Street in 1893. By 1899, Giovanni retired and the company was Caproni Bros. & Co. with Enrico Caproni and Enrico Bertolaccine as partners. They moved the business to 175-177 Atwells Avenue and became wholesale liquor dealers and bottlers as well as agents for Gabriel Wine from San Gabriel, California.
Circa 1924, Enrico Caproni became sole proprietor of the company at 175 Atwells Avenue. He was bottling soft drinks only at this time. His son, Henry Jr., was secretary and treasurer of the company. A few years later, Henry Jr. became secretary and treasurer of the Hebe Company which had an office next door at 173 Atwells Avenue.
The Hebe Company were bottlers with a plant at 68 Brayton Avenue and an office at 175 Atwells Avenue in Providence circa 1916. They dealt in soft beverages and extracts. In the early 1930's, Raymond C. E. Caproni became president of Hebe Co. The Hebe Co. was finally taken over by John DeCesare in the late 1930's and went out of business in the early 1940's." @morbious_fod, there is no dot, but bc I was looking so close I noticed that the 2 (on the right) is actually on top of a 1. As if they made a mistake and put the 1 in the wrong place and then covered it up with the 2.
You can actually see what I mean if you look at the picture of the bottom.
@Surfaceone, thanks for all of the information and pictures. You always make your posts interesting ; ).
interesting you can see a 1 under the two if you blow it up. Nice find, should it have a paper label or is it just embossed? could make a diffrence in value.
finding some nice stuff,Iam getting jealous, lately no time for digging
