Recently during Fort Lewis College's Archaeology field school, in the summer of 2011, we found this bottle while surveying a site. I am trying to enter the information into a database of artifacts and am having a tough time finding specific information about this bottle. If anyone can help give more insight as to what this jar was used for, the archaeology department would be very appreciative.

The base of the jar has the H over the A and I have come to the conclusion this mark was used from 1920 - 1964.

Also on the jar base is is PATD 6126
4

The finish is a screw top, and the jar looks like it was machine made with two seems running the full length.

Thanks for any info!

Probably food type stuff, way to new for most collector interest and more than likely came from someone throwing out the garbage (recycle it don't waste time cataloging it)

Thanks.

We have to catalog it, anything older than 50 years is considered an artifact in the eyes of the state. :)

Let's not attack our new member. Archaeology has its place. There is no collector interest in this jar, but obviously archaeologists are not collectors...

sort of matters WHERE it was found. If it was found in a remote Yanomamö village it might be significant. If it was found behind a townhouse in Hoboken it belongs in a recycle bin.
