Hi Folks,
I am new to this and so this is my first post. My father died recently and in clearing out his belongings we found what we believe to be 2 old bottles that I would really appreciate any help you might be able to offer on.
The first measures about 295mm tall and 75mm in dia. It has a seal just below the neck that reads "Grand Vin" above what looks like a cross motif and "Chateau Lafite" below.
The second bottle stands about 325mm tall and appears to have a screw thread. At the bottom of the bottle it says "RHUM Charleston". It also has a glass seal with the initials "MBR" in it. There is also a damaged label with the face of an old woman wearing a cross. The label also says "1714-1801".
Can anyone please offer any information about these bottles as I have no idea whether they are rare, valuable or just for the recycling bin.
Thanks,
Fred.
