I'm a rank amateur when it comes to bottles and I've come to these forums looking for some assistance! A few days ago, I found a brown bottle laying on top of the ground in some woods I was surveying. I knew it was "old" so picked it up and carried it home. It turned out to be a Brown Chemical Company Iron Bitters bottle circa 1880 in remarkable shape for having been exposed. Today, I went back to the same location and literally picked up another bottle which I assume is from the same period however I've not been able to identify it conclusively. I've attached a few photos. It has mold seams to go up to an applied mouth. The only mark on the base is a large letter "S." The only other markings are the words "This bottle not to be sold." As you can see, there are some rather large bubbles in the glass. The sides taper gently from the base to the shoulder. Thank you very much for any help!
