New member - been metal detecting and exploring old cellars in my area for a few years now. Been digging some old free blown bottles from a colonial cellar site as well as some early 1900's glass. I am retiring soon so I will have more time to learn about some of the bottles I am finding. I got a 1747 coin from one cellar so I am hopeful I can find some nice older bottles. If I find anything interesting I will post some photos.

Welcome to the forum! Wow, did you actually find intact free-blown bottles? That's an INCREDIBLY rare thing to find in Canada. Even finding anything with a pontil is very difficult up here. I don't think I've ever even seen a free-blown bottle outside of a museum.
