I decided to go out digging today since I had some free time. so what if it was 90 degrees.
I first decided to break out the metal detector on a piece of property I noticed they started building on. Farm on next property over says built circa 1740.

After an hour and 2 bottle caps later, I decided to call it quits. Went to "Old Faithfull" spot with somewhat low hopes, but had an idea where I wanted to try. Damn sticker bushes have taken over.

Gave up after 2 hrs and moved to differend spot. Another hole we had success with in the past. It dried up, but I wanted to try going deeper. Here are some heartbreakers.

One last chance. I was digging and connected with a gopher hole. I enlarged it and spotted this one. Could i get lucky today 1 time?

nope, side straddle warrented flask with top completely broken off. Only thing I found were some buttons, white pajama and some mother of pearl.I'm too embarrassed to photo them. Dug for about 5 hrs, lost 20 pounds of sweat. got some fresh air.
Thinking of going back there next spring, when foliage hasn't taken over yet. I should have walked a creek today.
