Wife tells me Monday morning, if I do the dishes, I can go dig. Don't you know I was getting after some dishes. Had the dishes done and it starts pouring. Talk about mad. The place I was going to was right in the middle of a creek bottom. I would say we got maybe a half inch of rain. I decided to wait til' Tuesday. Praying on my way that the rain didn't affect my spot too bad. Boy was I wrong!!!! Here is the place I dug last time. Completely under water.

Now I was in a dilema. " Should I stay or should I go now? " Well because of the killer Cokes, I decided to start a new hole about where I was standing to take the first pic. Bottles did start showing up at about a foot or two down. Then came the water!

Those two ended up being a small jar and a squat crowntop like those 7-ups. Bottles did started piling up, but nothing good yet after an hour. Now I'm really debating on leaving.

Being the die hard that I am, ( when it's leaving time, you practically have to pull me out of my hole by the ankles and I'm still trying to hold on ) I decided to try and find at least one good one. Could this be the one, the one I was after.

Believe it or not, I was having to bucket out water just to get the pictures. The soda's come out so clean out of the muck. Unfortunately, this 1915 Dallas, Tex had the top part of the crown busted off. Crazy thing about the sodas I have dug here, all the commons were really damaged, all the rares were darn near perfect. This hardly ever happens. Needless to say, I was wasting my time. The muck was just too much. Found some bottles but only brought one home.

What can I say, great conditions to dig. The water have done already the hard job, you just have to pull out the goodies.

What I can't understand is how you people can stop from digging and take pictures? When I see the beautiful curves of a bottle I don't have enough hands to take it out, I use an extra foot and, if necessary, my teeth.

You would have thought I was a hog farmer. Well I actually was for about a year. Talk about a stinky job. Nothing like the smell of money, my grandma used to tell me. Well not all digs have silver linings. The bottle I brought home was a 1928 bulbous Nu-Icy bottle from Dallas. For some of you who are looking for dumps, here is one picture of what to look for. Trash, junk, and whatever. People back then tried to pretty much keep it in one location. I have walked a creek and seen just an old spring mattress sticking out of the mud. I dug all around it and found some pretty good bottles. Well I would show you the lone bottle I brought home after digging for 5 hours, but it is still dirty. Here is a pic of some of the rubbish. Hope you enjoyed my sucky dig!!!!
