I have a 25x22 cardboard sign, looks like 1920's advertising for Between the Acts little Cigars. Has a man and woman all dressed up, and he's hold a tin of Between the acts little cigars. Can't find anything like it, or any info on it. I see the tins on eBay, but this sign is like nothing I have seen, need a good tobacco guy for this one.

Hey Chuck,

Please put me down as one who'd like to see it.

They did series of Theatres and Actors in the earlier days.

Is it Thomas Hall era, or Lorillard?

I'm not a tobacco guy, per se, but I did smoke a couple of Kools while looking around...

Here's a pic. It may have some glare because it's wrapped in plastic. Measures 25"x22"

You've got that right, Chuck,

Do'ya think it might have been cutoff just above the hat band? Her hair style certainly does look Twenties.

I looked at a lot of Between the Acts ephemera, and surely did not see that. Thanks for posting it.

It doesn't look cut off, but it could have been at some point.

I'm trying to value the sign, it belongs to a friend of mine, and he's wanting to sell it, but can't find someone to value it.

I've seen nothing like it, and the color is nice. I love it, and If I could buy it right, i would buy it from him. The cardboard has a few ships, and a couple small creases, but I just like it! It speaks to me, I would frame it and display it in my home.

He wants to sell it, but he want it valued first.

Hey Chuck,

The reason I asked about it being cut is that, compositionally it looks incomplete to me. It has the least amount of copy (none) and the most minimal product placement of any ad piece of theirs that I viewed. I continue to think it has been cut...

Here's a little later larger sized cardboard sign.

"Description 1940s to 1950s. Promoting Little Cigars and includes two product tins. This poster was likely trimmed a few inches at bottom because only part of the product tin is visible. Very little wear with bright, clean colors and only a few short scratches.
Condition (Excellent). Size Largest Framed: 35 - 1/2" x 29 - 1/2"." From.

Let me take a closer look at the sign, it may show signs of being cut down. Just a guess, but what would you value it at?

I'm not an expert in this type of thing, but there are some chips along the top where it could have been cut off, but right where his hat is, the top edge of the sign is the same color as the hat which makes me think it wasn't cut down, but I just don't know. I saw one on an auction site that had been cut down and they expect it to bring $200 to $400, and it was from the 40's. I'm pretty sure this one is from the 20's, and even if it's been cut down seems to have a solid value. I think i would give $200 if my friend would take it, but even thought I want a good deal, I don't want to cheat him. That's why I need a value.

What are the measurments of the complete signs from the 20's. have you seen any to compare?

Do you know a Tobacco collector that could valur this for me, I would like to buy it, but if it's more than I want to give, then I'm just going to try to sell it for my friend.

I deal in antiques, and feel like I can hold my own in about any field, except Tobacco. Just never delt with it much.
