Someone in CA needs to convince the guy at American Bottle Auctions that these are the junk they obviously are. No one had seen one before until about 5 years ago, tops, they come in 10 different colors, almost all rare, and they are hopelessly impractical. Yet ABA has sold two in the last couple of years, both times either flat out saying they are old or implying that they have all the earmarks of old. Now sellers are starting to refer to those auctions as proof.

There is no way that this bottle is old as the style/pontil/colour are definitely wrong.

There's nothing to report unfortunately. The ad is fine, never stating a possible date. Old is in the eye of the beholder.
Surfs link is just one of at least a ½ dozon on the German half post jobs. Perhaps it needs a spot in the "Hall of Shame".

they list it in BEFORE 1900 catagory which implies it is at least 112 years old. So the ad is misleading and wrongly listed. But fleabay doesnt care, they are too busy courting the chinese junk power sellers and trying to figure out how to make a catagory for time-share grave plots.


I see the new crop of camel jugs is coming out in earth tone colors this season..

That's funny, in that it's just about an exact copy of one I have in my bathroom as a deco piece. My dad bought it years ago as being from a civil war lot of stuff. I don't know, maybe tazmanian civil war, circa 2000... It's pretty, not old, but pretty color. If I didn't know I had other bottles of greater value in the house, I'd go look to make sure someone didn't steal mine and put it up there :<)
