INK BOTTLE

I found this one a cpl months ago while rooting around the dump. It is a Sheaffers ink container. The thing I noticed was the pocket In the top. It is embossed this side down to fill pocket. I guess it was to keep one from dipping all the way into the container. I believe the pictures are clear enough to read the bottom embossing. Jar is about 2 1/2" high and 6 1/2" around. The pocket served as a mini inkwell to hold the ink. You would put the cap on, flip it in and presto filled inkwell.

Hello,lepew62; Those are neat ink bottles. I have one in my desk up north that has the label and is about half full of ink. They are younger that I am I think. The thing that fascinates me about the jar is no-one can explain the production procedure to me, regarding how they were made on an ABM.
If any one knows about the method of plunger and the internal forming system - [please fill us all in]. Back when I worked at Thatcher Glass - I couldn't get the technical mystery solved then, either.
