I would love to add one of these to my vet collection. I was just wondering if this is a normal price for these or if two of the folks are in a bidding war? It is a bit high for me.....not particularly interested in one with contents and would even be happy with one with no label. Seems there was some mention awhile back about these bottles. What would be a reasonable price for one of these..without a label or contents?

Your the resident vet bottle expert, don't ask me. 3 bidders still going over $75 sounds like it's a good one though. There's still a few days left but it does look like it's got some specialty interest. I'm not sure if it's the bottle or the bird interest.

Well, it has 4 hours to go and it is at $192. You could buy a really nice bottle for that! Not that this one is not nice...and very precious to a few folks apparently.

Jerseyville is a small town here in Illinois without many embossed bottles and that helps the value. The Piasa bird is a local landmark was originally painted on limestone bluffs overlooking the Mississippi river by native Americans. It was first discovered by french explorers in the 1600's. It has been repainted on a different set of bluffs nearby and has been maintained for many years. I am sure this is the reason for the interest in this bottle on a local level.

That is interesting information about the bluff painting..It would be interesting to know if there is a remaining legend to go along with the beast.

Joe, I am so glad she liked the card. I know that a snowy, long winter can be a challenge, especially when you have physical pain to add to it.
