I found this Isaly's Milk or Cream bottle today. On the one side it has ISALY'S and the other HALF PINT LIQUID REGISTERED YOUNGSTOWN .O.It looks mouthblown so I am thinking 1920's.Am I in the ballpark on this? Thanks
I found out some information directly from Islays. Interestingly enough in 1918 the Isaly Dairy Co. purchased the routes and plant of Farmer's Dairy in
Youngstown. They underwent a building restructure in the 30s to an Art Deco design.
I dug an Isaly's milk locally in Catonsville, Maryland last fall. It was a slug plate bottle however; I sold it but I believe the date was 1930. I would say your milk dates to the 1930s-1940s.
My guess is late '20's to late 40's based on the pic. Take a close look at the bottom. There might be two numbers somewhere there. They might be faint. Might be something like 38 or you might see them in a circle at the center with possibly a letter in between. At quick glance, it would kind of look like a pontil. Something like 3I8. Both of these would be for 1938, with the I possibly for Isaly. I believe Isaly had square bottles also. I'd post some pics if I could figure this new site out.
