Liquor Bottle?

This bottle was found on a beach/marsh in Massachusetts. Based on the "Federal law forbids sale or reuse of this bottle" stamped on the bottle I believe it is a liquor bottle... The stamp on the bottom appears to be Owen's-Illinois, however the other numbers do not seem to follow the other information found online for determining information about the bottle. I will post pictures, but this is the information from the bottom:D956-8M 3257 A Any info would be appreciated!

That is indeed a whiskey / bourbon bottle dated from the end of prohibition to 1964. Exactly what brand I cannot tell you. It has very limited collector value at this time but may be of interest to you as the start of a wonderful collection. Thank you for sharing and for doing your own research first. That is refreshing. I think it's Calvert scotch 1948 or 49.

Thank you for your direction - I found it! It is a Shenley Red Label bottle!
