Thats neat they pretty much held everything I think they were so cheap and sold in such bulk that they had many uses. I have one here that has insect Poison powder in it. I found it in the attic of a old house. I also have seen a couple with sample perfume in them. The real tiny ones 1" under are dose vials you can tell the different they are about 1/2 as big around as a normal one.

some of the ones with the pinched top in dansalata's picture were for insulin. we used to rent a very old housing when i was a kid. one of the former occupants was a diabetic and we would find them in the trash piles in the woods.

I have found a bunch of those around farms from the 30s-50s, I think they were used extensively for veterinary meds as well.
