Hi Meredtih, it's tougher to date stoneware or crock inks as there was very little change over a 50 year or so period. From the look of your lip, I would say 1890's , maybe early 1900's. I don't know of a good website for these as I do not collect them. Hopefully someone here will read this and either confirm or deny the age I have given you and maybe will know of a good site for you. Sorry I wasn't more help. Kelley

Hi Meredith
The other members are correct in their dating of about 1890 - 1900
This type of stoneware bottle was used for many things including furniture poilish, blacking & velvet reviver ,to my knowledge they were not used for ink..
These turn up quite regularly on UK Digging sites around 1900 and similar shaped crocks have turned up on 1920s sites
We have many pictures of stoneware crocks on the UK bottle forum link below
Lots of creams ,gingers,whiskys etc

Thanks for replying and for the link, I will definetly check that out, I really like crockery and stoneware, I think it is my favorite to find. My collection is still in the "beginners" stage so this was a fun find for me. I appreciate all the information, I will add it to my log.

Meredith
