hi everyone just looking for a little info on this bottle i found it 2 miles off west port harbour lying in a sea cucumber pacth it came up in perfect shape looking for a date and where it was made thanks steve.

Hi Steve, great find. I don't know where it was made, but it's a beer, ginger beer, root beer, or something along those lines. The style was made for a long time, probably 1840 to 1880.

You have made a great find! I have the exact same bottle in my collection. Mine was recovered in Halifax Harbour under the bridge. Unfortunately my bottle has a few chips. M.E. Scotts is from Boston Massachusetts. What you have is an early American beer bottle . M.E. Scotts was in business between 1851 to 1853. I don't know the value of the bottle for sure but my guess is more than $100 US
