Mason Jar Info and what's a fair asking price??

Info on this Mason jar I found while cleaning out an attic,And what's a fair asking price? I've been told it's rare and I've been told their a "dime a dozen".. Please help!!

It looks like from the first picture that it has something written on the side. That will be the most influential factor on the value. If you could post whether or not it says something, that would be helpful.

These are quite common. It is an earlier jar but worth perhaps $10.

Mason's Patent Nov. 30th 1858 jars were made from some time after that date until the mid 1910's. Obviously, there's a lot of them out there. Generally, ground lip jars were made prior to 1900 and smooth lip (machine made) after. I think yours is a ground lip, but I can't tell for sure since there's no picture of it. Values vary widely - color (most common is aqua), character, whittling, crudity all contribute to the price. Collectors also look for bold embossing - this jar looks like it was blown into a mold that was nearly worn out. I'd say the $10 assessment is pretty accurate.
