As some of you may have figured out myself and Gary have been doing some digging and searching together since we live in neighboring towns. We have also been sharing sites so you may see either of us post on some of these threads so I'd like to share a few pictures of what I've found near the "local's" house. Plus a trash heep behind the midget house as well -
Sorry about the sideways pic, hope it still has the effect.
I meant to post this with the main picture but I'd like to point out a few. If anyone wants a close up just let me know. The smallest of the pill bottles has no seems and a slight aqua appearance. One of the small cobalt blue's is an Ingram's Shaving Cream jar from turn of the century. The soda is a near mint Coca~Cola from 1940's. I finally got my pre-1923 aqua ball jar (intense blue to this is just breathtaking). Bottle infront of the Clorox jug has "Handee" embossed with 30oz on it if anyone knows what this is. Hope to hear your comments.
The Outhouse looks like a single seater. Looks a little small for a double seater. I for one on the forum was raised up as a child using outhouses. Back in the 50s having indoor pluming was a luxury. Remember when we had it put in. Of course my brother and I would still use the old outhouse to smoke a corncob pipe full of rabbit tobacco. The pic brought back memories of a childhood long ago.
That was a fancy house in it's day with the front Gable with the wood siding. Keep looking and posting. Buster.
Hey Buster, You're right! It's a single seat. I know it's a modern one due to the cast concrete throne within (see photo). There were many places in the back woods here in NC that used an outhouse well into the 1970's.
great pics you guys ihope you dig a bunch of nice stuff, make sure you get into that ravine before everything gets real green or you'll have to wait til fall.and cadbury's is right if possible and you have access to a metal detector do it because there has to be some goodies waiting just under the surface to add to the finds.good luck. THE BADGER
Hey All, I've been back to this house a few times now alone and with John aka jcrlanger. Found a late 19th century blob top clear, slick and cracked. Also been hitting a lot of early ABMs. I have found several 1800's necks and one whole (see photo) common. So, I know there's some older stuff here...I'll be back!
