I got a real problem when Im out hunting more bottles two days after attending the Baltimore show. Like there wasnt enough there to buy!?! Anyway I picked these up from a local guy. They were sitting in his barn and were very dirty. They all cleaned up really good. I know most of the soda's are pretty common around here but can anyone tell me anything about the milk. Im not real familiar with these and dont collect a ton of milk bottles. Hellam is a pretty small town just down the street from York where I live.

The bottles you refer to as sodas looks more like beer bottles to me .

Sorry about that. I know the york brewing and helb were beer. I think plitt was a soda guy but he may have bottled some beer as well.

No reason to be sorry , everyone goofs now and then . Another thing I wanted to mention was that the mug base crown top beer is the first one I have seen in a crown top . I have a mug base beer from Cincinnati , but it is a blob or tooled top , not sure which it would be called .

Jason do you have the York bottle book? It doesn't list rarity on milks but is a great book. Someone from the York club like Don Hartman would probably know.

Yeah I do have a book called bottles and jugs with a york pa perspective. Thats the only book that I know of. That book did have this dairy listed and said they were in business for ten years. It is a good book that tells some history about the old bottling companies but doesnt have any other info about this particular dairy. I talked to a friend and fellow collector tonight. He said this isnt the toughest Hellam bottle to find but still a good one.
