What anomaly, I think that every large example that I have seen has had some fire to it. They came in two sizes as pictured and they are relatively available so I would concur that the value of either example is within the range as mentioned previously.

I do not know about the New York example , but the Dayton version had a glass stopper . I am showing the stopper in mine in case you may run into someone that has a selection of milk glass stoppers , could get lucky and find a match . I am assuming this is the correct stopper as it was in the bottle when I dug it from the ash years ago .

That stopper is actually pretty small Tony , I was really surprised when I dug that bottle out and finding the stopper still attached to it . That is only one of two milk glass bottles I have , and this is the only milk glass bottle I ever dug , bought the other one being a bitters . I love seeing Milkglass 's collection of milk glass , would love to have one of those lady's leg bitters like he has .

The stopper is pretty cool. Can you remove it? My guess is that you have to be pretty careful or you can break it.

We once found a tiny little perfume bottle with a ground glass stopper still full of its original contents. I guess you can't be sure that time did not alter the intended scent - but we were able to remove the glass stopper - and it smelled like . . . . .

(you're thinking roses right?)

chocolate covered cherries. Really. Maybe that was irresistible back then?

Actually , the stopper will come right out Bob , its one of those stoppers with a cork covering where it goes into the neck of the bottle , that is why I was surprised to find it in the bottle .
