I was on the local classifieds probably a month ago now, and saw a local person advertising a bottle collection for sale. It had no details at all. Figuring it would be absolute junk, I asked if they had any local stuff. Got a replay saying yes, and they would get me a list of bottles. I waited and waited, but never heard back until just a few days ago. The guy is renovating his house, and wanted these moved out of the house. I made a deal do a partial trade since I had a very nice 7-UP thermometer that he wanted for his "man-cave". I added some cash on top, and brought these bottles home.
There are a number of common ACL pops, but overall not much as far as "recycling bin" bottles as I call them. There may be a few that take that trip since they are common and damaged. My plan is to take one of the groups of the common ACL pops and put them up on the classifieds. I have had luck with that in the past if they are nicer, cleaned up and have some names people recognize. (Coke, Pepsi, Sprite, etc) Might be able to recover a bit of my money just doing that.
There are some Ontario ACL pops. Some I am familiar with, and some I am not, so I will have to do some research on those.
There is a nice group of Ontario embossed sodas. A small number of quarts, a pile of pint crown tops and hutchs and a few blobs. Also a few English round bottoms(1 from Ontario), an unembossed torpedo and a Detroit seltzer bottle.
Overall, I am happy with the amount I paid. I think for what I bought, I got a good deal on it. I plan on selling a bit to recover my cost, then seeing what I have left and decide from there what to do with some of the stuff.
