The big dark square bottle is called a “case gin†bottle. I really like the codd with blue top! Can we get a close-up picture of that?

Thanks, Tom

Hi Bottleman
The one with the blue top is a west aussie Crowder & Letchford. Reliance Patent 4 Made by Dan Rylands, Barnsly
The other one. has Volcanic down the front & Ross Bro Makers . Erskineville around the base
Any ideas on that one

G'day Nic

Great finds - the stoneware bottle is an ink, usually impressed Stephen's Aldergate Street London, with a Registration Diamond which dates them around 1886-1889.

Are any of the other stone inks impressed? I like the spill-proof ink (to the front of the Stephen's) and the little white cone ink.

The Volcanic marble is from Sydney (Erskineville is a suburb of Sydney) - perhaps a Sydney collector on the list can provide more details.

What are the brand names on the other marble bottles, as well as the torpedo and stone ginger beers?

Cheers,

G'day Dirranbandi
The spill proof one has The Pottery Fulham on it with what looks like PATENTED above.
Nothing on the cone one.
The brand names on the cobb's are Swan Premier Aerated, Donaldson & Collins, Perth Aerated, Crowder & Letchford and Cuthbert. With two or three different patents on some of the brands. Nothing on the torpedo.

Hi Nic,
Nice stuff, very nice [:D] , the blue top Codd's a ripper. What town name is on the Cuthbert codd ? the only codd I've seen with that name is from Dandenong so it's a bit lost if it made it's way over there.

The stoneware bottle with the square top is a bulk ink bottle made by doulton of lambeth..
They usually have a registration diamond near the base and come in about 4 sizes
The diamond is for 1870 something but they used these into the 1920s
