Hello njrob i have done alot of research on the morris canal and know alot about it i cant wait to see what other bottles you have found in the canal :)

Nice find, stoneware bottles are a favorite of mine, I always like finding them. Looking forward to seeing your other finds.

Been digging the canal for years, there's more bottles than you can shake a stick at. Its mostly post 20's stuff since the canal basin was a great place to dump garbage after it was formally abandoned it in 1924. Im sure there's some older stuff beneath but it would take serious dedication to get past the junk.

Oh, and be careful because many sections of the canal are National Landmarks.

we are digging 1000ft of the canal to its original banks and depth. finding all kinds of bottles

we are allowed to dig the canal due to all the crap the dumped in there over the years
