If you're interested in opinions about the base, I'd say it's not IP. Possibly OP but probably a nice crude smoothie..

Interesting bottle.
The base looks similar to other early small cylinder medicines going back as far as 1840s. A crude smooth base I would say.

Thanks Cyber and Matt. I am sure it is not op. I really didn't believe it was pontiled of any kind but I hadn't seen a smooth base quite like this one either. Glad you chimed in Matt as I know you have looked at more medicines than most. Thanks guys as I am always looking for any info on these bottles. Kelley

I have no idea how to get in touch with Dr. Cannon. I found him on Google.

Kelley,...doesn't (or didn't) he have a column in Antique Bottle and Glass Collector magazine? I think it was called "In the Medicine Chest"...Not sure if he's still at it, as I think the mag recently changed hands...I was guessing I.P. because of the 'dome' shape in the base,..Guru Gunth has probably seen many more early meds than I ...I be bowing to his expert opinion...[;)]

Cyber, that's funny [:D] I don't care who ya ere! I think I have taken more than my share as well! lol!

Joe, that is exactly where Dr. Cannons article came from. [:)] He has a fine collection as well.

Wasn't meant to slight Charlie. Just made me feel reassured when both he and Gunth agreed.

after they plant me. lol!
You can take it with you, I don't care what they say.
That's an odd and beautiful bottle. The mark being so off center sure looks like something was attached for the lip treatment. Finding out would be a great use of a time machine.
