Interesting bottle.
The base looks similar to other early small cylinder medicines going back as far as 1840s. A crude smooth base I would say.

Thanks Cyber and Matt. I am sure it is not op. I really didn't believe it was pontiled of any kind but I hadn't seen a smooth base quite like this one either. Glad you chimed in Matt as I know you have looked at more medicines than most. Thanks guys as I am always looking for any info on these bottles. Kelley

Kelley,...doesn't (or didn't) he have a column in Antique Bottle and Glass Collector magazine? I think it was called "In the Medicine Chest"...Not sure if he's still at it, as I think the mag recently changed hands...I was guessing I.P. because of the 'dome' shape in the base,..Guru Gunth has probably seen many more early meds than I ...I be bowing to his expert opinion...[]

That's an odd and beautiful bottle. The mark being so off center sure looks like something was attached for the lip treatment. Finding out would be a great use of a time machine.
