So much to my dismay the old farmhouse by my parents house had the driveway roped off so that dig was a bust. I am sure it wasnt to keep me out as it was to keep scumbags from dumping their trash in the driveway. So I decided to wander around Kowawese unique area in New Windsor Ny. It has a long history that pre-dates the American Revolution. It was a living and fishing area for the local Indians, a 14 cannon battery to stop the British advance up the Hudson in 1777, and finally before becoming a county park in the 1990's it was a sand quarry for the area brick factories in the later 19th and and early 20th centuries. I found this little guy up a hill on the river bank. Its basically just the pontil and a side piece. I also found a Waterman's ink jar probably from the 30's or 40's and various broken items but nothing interesting. The pontil and the watermans were on the suface. Is it worth scratching deeper given the history and what I found so far?
