Hello -
I thought I'd post some pictures of the few bottles that I have in my collection.
The group to the left are what i believe are the oldest, I think they are pre-1900, but please correct me if I'm wrong... there is a clear embossed Welchs Grape Juice bottle, an embossed Dr. Kings New Life Pill bottle, a brown embossed American Hair Color New York bottle, and a purple bottle with no markings (except a small 3 on one side). I picked all of these up in stores in little mining towns in the Colorado mountains for a few dollars each. I was told that the Lavendar bottle used to be clear but changed because of manganese in it and the intensity of the UV light in the mountain creek it was found in. After doing some research, I understand these can be faked, so I'm not sure if this was naturally changed or not.
In the middle, I have a couple of newer bottles I believe them to be post 1900. My favorite by far is the "Lucille Young's Bust Massage", I picked up all three of these in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, another mountain town.
Far to the right are more modern bottles, which are the first that I collected so I love them. As you can see some of them have threads at the top which I believe is an indication of a more modern bottle. I love the one filled with all different shapes, sizes and colors of pearls, that is my favorite of the newer bottles.
Any info on any of these bottles would be appreciated!
Thanks!
Teri
