my other mystery bottle

I mentioned in my first post after joining the forum that I had a couple mystery bottles that won with a winning bid at an auction earlier this week when I bid on two 5 gallon buckets full of misc. bottles. This little bottle is what really caught my eye. The lid is rusted but was apparently has the pop top in the middle to check for seal so I'm assuming the bottle was used for food. On one side of the bottle it says "The Boston Tea Party" with a sailboat to the right and on the left of the sailboat the date Dec. 16 1773. On the other side of the bottle it says "American Revolution" and to the left of that a cannon with cannonballs is pictured. Even has the detail of smoke coming out of the cannon which I thought was a neat detail. You can make out the B & M logo on the rusted lid. I could very well be wrong but I believe the logo on the bottom of the jar is the Anchor Hocking logo. Any ideas on what this was specifically used for? Thanks again! MIKE

Thanks for the reply, wouldn't have held very many beans. Can't imagine how many you would have had to buy to make some soup. MIKE

Obviously I can be and probably am mistaken but that's what it looks like to me. Unfortunately you didn't put the size in perspective and didn't state that. It looks to be about 5" tall x 5" wide. The shape and connection with the Boston Tea Party makes me think Boston Baked Beans. Follow my thinking? [] Jim

Yes, and B & M beans to boot. I think the bicentennial series.

Thanks for the responses guys! My wife and I have never even heard of B & M baked beans, don't think they are sold around here so I wouldn't have even thought about it. I did check their website and they had several patriotic jars since 1986 including the one I ended up with at my auction. Not sure if I will keep it or just toss it. MIKE
