Mystery bottle

[Aged10Years]

I found this in the California Delta recently and am wondering all sorts of things about it. Anybody have any ideas about it’s origin or use? Thank you in advance.

Some sort of later teens to 1920s utility bottle. Might have held anything from rubber cement to medicine tablets.

Thank you for your response. What type of top do you think it had? Any idea where it was made? There isn’t much on the bottle with exception to what is in the bottom. I’m not sure if that is a 91 or a 16?

I'm going with shoe polish.

If it were shoe polish, it sure would have been a pain to get it out of there.

Likely shoe polish or similar. The cork would have had a wire with a pad on it that was down in the bottle to use as an applicator.

Nice find. It's a pretty clean bottle. Some shoe polish bottles still have residue inside.

ABM shoe polish. Soap and water....then 0000 steel wool.
