Me and my digging / work buddy Dave stopped by an old fieldstone foundation hole on the way home from work yesterday...
I went one way, he went the other, scouting for the dump....he found an old hunk of tin pail...and thought nothing of it...I told him there had to be more, so I took a section of the pail handle, and started probing anong the stone wall where the pail came out...bingo! Found glass right away! So we dug down with our boots (No diggers with us) and found UBER tree roots...with the glass under them...So we rooted and grunted and came up with these shards...We intend to go back with impliments of destruction and go at it proper...but we wonder what these came from, and what the age is?
The embossed side panel says "NG COMPOUND" , the other panel was the back or front panel, not embossed, very deep aqua, post mold I think, pic sucks, sorry.
Have to link the pics, can't seem to make it upload..
