Hi Everyone!

I came into possession of an Old Grand Dad Sour Mash bottle (with cork) that I was told was from the 1800s. Can anyone help me with this? I have no idea if it's worth anything.

I'm attaching a picture. The bottle seems old, it has no label but instead is crudely etched (as shown). It almost looks like a hand-etching because it isn't perfect, detailed, or decorative. The bottle is an interesting shape as well, it is not smooth-sided, like the other Old Grand Dad bottles I've seen.

I've been unable to find one like it anywhere on the web.

Thanks,

Ariel

Hello Ariel,

Welcome to the Blue Pages, and thanks for the partial picture of your Old Grand Dad.

We like photos in these parts that clearly show the etching, base, and lip of the bottles, perhaps also oriented so that the embossing, or etching can be read without the use of a mirror...
