Hello All,
I ran up on a nice slugplate soda from New Burnside Ill. today. According to wilkipedia it is a village of about 242 people. (2000 census). I think that would classify this bottle as a hard to find small town slug.
Was wondering if anyone up there in Illinois collects sodas and could let me know what a very nice example of this bottle could be worth. It's my bet you don't see these everyday, even in Illinois. Gonna include some pictures. It will soon be for sale, but I haven't decided where or how. Ebay has really crapped in their own nest as far as I am concerned, but I figure it may still be the best option for this type bottle.
Anybody interested or have some more info on it just give me a holler. Slug says "H.L.HESTER BOTTLING CO. NEW BURNSIDE, ILL. The only damage I can find is a little light scratching and some rub around the heel.
