So, I went out scouting for new dumps but forgot a shovel, only a little trowel. I found a spot by a 40's dump where I picked this up.

Is this of any age? Along with this wine base I found near a dug out 20's dump.

Let me know if these are of any age older than the dumps located near these.

The ceramic piece is most likely an ink and the wine bottle base may be TOC. I found one with the same type of bottom and it had air bubbles galore and a sloppy lip, so it very well may be 1900 (or so). Here's a pick of that bottle:

Possibly, but this was found on the surface, and underneath were 20's rope design Nehi's. And the ceramic piece still does not belong close to a 40's dump without another dump nearby. Thanks for the info though.

Sounds like my dump...I can scratch the surface and hit TOC or dig 6" and hit 50s stuff. It's weird. Good Luck!

The ceramic bottle is a very common shape and style that has been used from the nineteenth century or earlier up to the present day for imported wines, gin, and other drinks. The green base is probably exactly the same bottle that was posted and is a common champagne bottle design. I've dug hundreds of them over the years at many toc dumps and up into the 1920-s era.

its pretty hard to date broken wine bottles , they all look the same pretty much . i've found broken wine bottles before and never really been able to date them much unless i allready know the age of dump i'm digging . pop bottles are alot easier to date so if you've found some of them it be alot easier to determine age

I think a gin or mineral water of Dutch origin also on the pottery. It looks like a fresh break too. Did something happen in the digging?
