My cousin knows Im into old bottles. He found these along with some other local stuff under an old porch of a house he was working on. The others were embossed and I was able to give him some info on them but I dont know to much about these. Any info on age or value would be great. Is this one pontilled? I just dont know to much about this older stuff. Thanks for any help.

It has a rough surface and a off center blob which I thought was neat.

This is the other bottle he was curious about. I dont think this one is anything to special. The only embossing is on the bottom. It says C&CQLIM. Any Thoughts?

The first one is a European-made ale bottle from around 1900, the 2nd is an American beer from the same timeframe:

C & CO LIM........Cunningham(s) and Company, Limited, Pittsburgh, PA (1886-1907) FROM HERE

Thanks for the quick response cyberdigger. How was the first one made? Looks like it has mold seams running halfway down both sides and one around the center of the bottle. Is this considered a three piece mold. Whats up with the base. Is that a pontil mark or am I getting things confused? Thanks again.

Yes it's a 3 piece mold with an applied lip, and no, it's not pontilled.. it might have a kicked-up base, which means they poked it in to form a conical shape inside, meant to trap sediment I believe..

Glad to help! Not much value on those, sorry to say, but great shelf fodder!
