nehi beverages from columbus ga. - patd. date march 25 but no year minimum contents 9 fluid ounces. always heard of grape nehi when i was kid but this the first one i've come across i don't collect these but any information would be appreciated
Nehi bottles like that are extremely common in my area, unfortunately. So common, in fact, that aside from the dozens of Peoria, IL ones I have languishing in boxes, I also have one from Columbus, Georgia that i found in a local cemetery. Dunno how it got here but I doubt that it means it is a tough one, as far as sodas go. Nice looking deco soda though.
YES BACK IN THE 70S [HERE IN GA] THEY WERE SO COMMON THEY COULD BE FOUND ON TOP OF THE GROUND IN MANY PLACES! ALONG RAIL ROAD TRACKS,AT ANY OLDER DUMP,UNDER BUILDINGS ETC...STILL WHEN I SEE ONE IT IS LIKE SEEING A OLD FRIEND!JAMIE
I have a feeling the Columbus, GA bottles are a company bottle, because they seem to turn up everywhere, and I do mean everywhere. Columbus, GA was the location of Nehi's main office. We dug a cistern this past year which seems to have been filled in the 1930's, being only about five or six blocks away from the location of the local Nehi bottler of that era, both were Columbus, GA. There are Bristol, VA ones, but they are tough to come by.
