I have 4 insulators I've randomly found in the woods but I had an impulse buy earlier and was wondering what I had here. It was listed as a CD 102 Diamond Pony. I have no idea what that is or means. I spent 5 dollars on it. Did I overpay? Lol

If in very, very good condition you did fine, these, while colorful, are not difficult to find. Other colors and / or shades might be worth more or less. It requires the Price Guide or experience to know. The CD stands for Consolidated Design meaning that all similar shapes and sizes are consolidated into that number. A similar shape but about twice as large is a CD 126. Small insulators like that are called "Ponies". Lots more to know, keep looking and asking.
