Armour Laboratories Chicago: From what I understand, these contained slaughterhouse by-products. YUCK!

Nice finds!

We just went through knoxville. My wife is from Athens, TN. We've been looking for a Mayfield milk bottle. We looked at about every antique store in east TN. Have you ever come across any?

Thank you

Nice score on the cobalt med. I dug a clear one of those, but it was much smaller.

Thanks guys! That NY Pharmacal bottle was a pain in the butt to clean up. There was goopy caked on pepsin still in the bottle and it took a lot of Bar Keepers Friend and sand shaking to get it out. There's still some stuck in the corners, but it looks 100% better than it did.

I also got a few soda bottles that day, but they're pretty beat up. Got another TC Fox crown top in Green, a Knoxville 7oz Chero Cola, and a brown Coca Cola that's still sitting in water because I'm afraid to see if it's pinged up.

@Mike: Hey, thanks for posting up that picture. It'll be nice to remember it when the site's gone. Any chance we could hit it up tomorrow for one last hurrah before they fill it in? Also, I lost your phone number when my phone died. Could you email it to me? Definitely open to trading on the Racy Cream. I know how milks are your thing. It's got a little bit of damage to it though, a few small hair cracks, but not pinged.

@februarystarskc: I've actually never seen one, but I'll keep my eyes peeled at the shops in case any turn up. Madman might have an extra one.

Coked Out of My Mind!!

Well, this past weekend was the last hurrah at this particular dump. The owners are filling in the lot this week. Mike and I gave it hell and it paid off pretty nicely.

Saturday was pretty warm, so the walls were in a cave-in sort of mood. Actually had a wall of about 200lbs of dirt, clay and rock fall on my leg pinning it between the ground and my shovel.

Mike came to the rescue though and leveraged the shovel against the dirt and I was able to escape. :-D

These beauties are the highlight of the digging excursion.

There are four Knoxville arrow cokes (c. 1914 - 1917), and one Knoxville base script coke (c. 1903 - 1914). They're in pretty decent shape except for one of the arrows that has some major cracks through it. . I haven't tried to clean them extensively yet because I want the to be well temperature adjusted first. They haven't pinged except for a few small spots. Still very displayable.

Many thanks to Mike for letting me have these beauties.
