I got this paperweight off of Ebay, 2 hand carved dice inside, William T. Allen & Son - Mineral Waters. As nice as the day it was made, this is the second one of these from Paterson that I have, the other is a 5 dice J.J. Donahoe, PAT. APPLIED FOR on the tin bottom. Probably my best 'Go-With'...

William T. Allen started in 1877 in a partnership with Charles H. A. Tiffany selling beer and Mineral water. In 1891 they dissolved their partnership and went into business for themselves, then in 1903 William T. Allen brought his son into the company until they closed in 1918. I have some fantastic bottles from Tiffany & Allen, Wm. T. Allen and Wm. T. Allen & Son, so this is as good a companion piece as you'll ever find.

Just found out tonight that this other one I own is also booze related...

Joseph J. Donahoe owned a sloon at 288 Main St. here in Paterson from 1897-1911, his contains 5 hand carved dice, both were made by the same company around the same time period and are the only two examples ever seen or heard of... This one is being polished to remove the scratches, better pics to follow.
