Nice Pair Of Baltimore Steamers Acquired

I was able to add 2 more Baltimore "steamer" blob top sodas to my collection this past week. First up is a rare William J.B. Shanks with the W.J.B.S. monogram rather than the typical arrow motif he usually used. This is example is indeed listed as "rare" in the Baltimore bottle book and that is even an understatement; I cant recall seeing more than another example or two of this one. Also, this one is attic mint!!!

I was also able to pick up this J.L. Sanders variant which I did not have. I really like the shield in the slug plate as well as the fact that this example has the initials B.P.A. on the base, standing for the Bottlers Protective Association. B.P.A has their own bottles as well, but I believe Sanders was the owner at one point in time.

I decided to pull all the William J.B. Shanks steamers off the shelf to get a group shot with the new one. Each one of these are different and a few are very hard to find. I believe there should be a few with loop seal closures out there somewhere, but I am yet to find one. The one on the far left is actually Carson & Shanks when Shanks shared a business with Carson selling sodas and mineral waters. That bottle is very hard to find.
