This is an interesting read and is relavent for all of us. I have just found a way to ship a non-domestic letter (a letter that goes from one person to another and not to a business, which is a corporation) for 2 cents not 44 cents. In other words you can send a regular letter for 2 cents. I have tried it, it works and there is nothing that the post office can or will do about it. You say that is not much of a savings for the risk. Well how about a package? That is also 1st class mail if 13 ounces or below. I am researching the package and I believe that the rate is 1 cents per ounce after the initial ounce which would be 14 cents for a 13 ounce package and not the $3.41 that we would now have to pay. I am also researching what it would cost to ship a priority package. It should also be at a much reduced rate also but my local PO doesn't have a rate chart as of yet. Wouldn't it be interesting to ship a bottle that weighs let's say, 2 pounds for less than 35 cents or so? If you want to see how the 1st class letter works for 2 cents, a few of you can send me your mailing address and I will send you a letter with a 2 cents stamp on it. You should get it from me in 3-5 days and I will not put your zip code on it just to prove my point. Here's the link...http://www.theforbiddenknowledge.com/hardtruth/zip_code.htm
