Bob (blobbottlebob) here on ABN, and I slipped into a local lake on Tuesday evening in search of pontilled bottles. We each went off in a different direction and sunk. Very few bottles came out, and certainly nothing pontilled. I did however find this antique fishing reel that dates to the mid 1880's and was manufactured by a Thomas Chubb from Vermont! It is called a Henshall Van Antwerp reel and coincedentally. Dr. James Henshall for who the reel was named after owned a home here in that time frame. Could it have been his? Who knows......
