It looks like a top to a Townsend Sarsaparilla or some kind of square medicine bottle.

Another interesting thing. There's a large spot about 50 yards ouut in the feild (witch would of been about right for a privy) were the dirt is different. Almost like the the farmer was driving along and his tractor busted through a cap or cover of a cistern or privy. Then the guy came back and filled in the hole with clay and gravle. The reason I think that, it happend to one of my neighbors a few years ago. Guy was just driving along out in a feild were a farm once stood and Wamm! The weight of the tractor opend up a 12'x6' hole. I never got a chance to look before he filed it in. darn! Im thinkn it was a cistern, those colapse all the time.

Anyone have any advice in getting permission? It such a promising spot I would hate to screw it up. I asked and dug lots before but they were people I knew, and not as promising as this. Also If I did get permission it would be nice to have some more expertise finding and diggin them. Any pros out there in N Il. advice help ect. Or maybe they have been dug and im just spining my wheels?
