Hi,
I have this bottle in my father-in-laws collection. It lloks old - free blown, pomtil, applied lip but was there clear glass mid- 1800s?
Thank you,
tekyma

You get the award for largest pic ever posted here, it looks like a demi joh and it may be sand pontiled, I'd say it's 1900 or so, maybe earlier with that lip...

how tall is it.
it looks like it might not be as big as a demijohn?
Maybe an early freeblown medicine.

It's actually 7 inches tall. I have no idea why it posted so large!

Resize it to about 700KB, it's not a demi john, could be a med like Matt said at that size...

Hello tekyma,

Welcome and thanks for showing us 10X lifesize photos. Perhaps you might visit HERE. Practise some photo editing there's lotsa places that make these tools available. They may already be languishing on your computer.

but was there clear glass mid- 1800s?

Yes, there was. Here's an informative site.

You'll get much better responses, if we could see clear, well cropped, size appropriate photos. Otherwise, we gotta get new monitors...

I'm gonna say a Med like Matt suggested, it would have had a paper label, IMHO
