Patent Whiskey bottle

Is anyone familiar with Patent Whiskey base marks or knows a good web site to get information? The bottle in question has a base mark of THOS H. JACOBS & CO PHILADELPHIA. I am looking for some information on the company, rarity and possible value.

was in business in the 1860's and sold wine and liqour thru the late 1800's, not much info after that.....Jim

One of his former employees started his own wine importing company in the early 1910's at 826 Walnut St. in Philly and his name was J. Gilmore, importer of wines and liqours for medical use and wine for communion use

Thanks for the info. I came out of a 1860s context. Do you have any idea of rarity or value? I will try and post a picture tonight.

Looks like a nice one. I don't specialize in whiskeys, but I would think $50-100 would not be unreasonable.
