A while back I did a few posts about a Providence construction site dig. It was a great dump, but I figured it was pretty much played out. Well, I decided to look it over once more. The hill I was digging on had changed completely. It went from almost bare dirt a year ago to a head-high jungle of the biggest weeds I have ever seen. It took a little longer, but I eventually reopened my hole. I decided to go deep and hit the bottom. There were a lot of older shards down there, but I hadn't found a lot that was whole.
At the end of my hour-long test hole, I pulled out a nice crude 1870s slick medicine. Needless to say it was enough to make me come back next weekend. I opened up a big hole, and hit a pocket of bottles! It wasn't a lot, but the bottles that I found were high quality. An unlisted Reynolds med from Providence, a H.I. Hough med from Olneyville in an unlisted size, and a rare blob from Olneyville. And I can't forget the Watson's Indian Lung Balsam!
As far as finding RI stuff goes, it was one of my best digs of the year!
And some clean pics
