Hey guys, i will be posting this thread under several categories as it fits many of them. Im hoping to get input from some of the more knowledgeable people on the site. I will have the chance to buy a Pepsi Cola Bottle mold, which i will post pictures of. I am wondering if anyone knows anything about it, what its price range might be, would anyone be interested in it, or if it would just be a neat collectors item. Thanks in advance for all the info.

Well Falcon, It is an old iron bottle mold for an I.S ABM. that was made by the Emhart Corporation. I have to assume there is only one half and it is without a bottom plate. The bottom plate would have told us the year, the company making the bottle and the mold number. I can tell by the back of it, that it is one of a double-gob set up. I can also tell it was an early set-up thet was used early on the machine set-up. I can tell this because there are thin depth cooling air grooves on the back of the mold. These were not really cooling grooves, but they let air flow up through the back of the lower hanger the mold was placed in. The notch on the back of the mold top was for a hanger block that centered the mold halves in the hanger arm so the halves would close together on the wide dovetail parting to the two halves. The design of the cavity for the bottle forming also tells me it was an early ABM set of equipment.
Value is up to the person that wants it. I wouldn't pay over $30 for it - but some one that collected those early Pepsi bottles might pay $ 50 for it. It is hard to put a value on molds like that. Most of them were sent back to the Mold Iron Casting Company for part of their remelt of mold iron to be cast.

Do you have a guess as to just how old the mold is Red ? The bottle design puts me in the mind of a non returnable throw away pepsi from the fifties or sixties . Seems like the mold would be older than that from the looks of it .

I've got a few Pepsis that would fit that mould. Though mine are NDNR's. Probably '70s?

I was thnking earlier fifties or sixties , but that bottle style would probably be from the seventies . I think those throw aways are dated on the bottom , but I do not have one handy to look at it . Possibly late sixties , more likely seventies
