Here's a photo of the top and bottom of the Day Son & Hewitt's Gaseous Fluid Bottle. If that is a pontil mark on the bottom, it not very rough to the touch. There is, however, a ridge that can be felt, but it is smooth to the touch.
Does anyone know anything about the Day Son & Hewitt's company?

Linda- Could you post a picture of the whole bottle and tell us the dimensions?

Bottle is 4 11/16" tall, base is 1 5/16" square, shoulders 1 3/8" across. If you need more photos, I'd be glad to send them. [:D] Sorry, I didn't get a chance to crop this photo before sending.......
