The section of Auglaize that runs through Wapak Ohio has been drained recently. There is a low level dam about a 1/2 mile from downtown. They opened the gate dropping the river about 3 ft or so. I have found bottles upstream from this area and always wondered what could possibly be in this area. I guess now is my opportunity to do so, there is one problem though. Of course with this being dammed up for so long the sediment is thick in areas. I tentatively tried a couple areas and I am cautious about trying further out. I just had had a flash in my head. I am stuck in the middle of the river in my sexy green waders. I cannot get myself removed from the mire and muck I have become entrapped in. I have to pull out my cell phone to call the fire dept to come rescue me. The police, fire dept, and of course the local news show up. The next day my picture is on the front page of the paper, headline reads. Fire Dept risks life and limb to rescue doofus from the river. I did find a sign upstream from this area, I have a picture posted in unexpected discoveries. I will let you know what goes on after the weekend, lets just hope I am not posting a news article
