Peoples back yards are my favorite spot's,how did I find out about them? I check out the year the house was built on the computer,if it was built in 1850 60 70 80 90 I knock on the door and ask permission to dig the hell out of their yard.

Lying around at low tide.

Bloody dangerous occupation though!

I'll just walk around in the woods, looking for shed antlers and what not.

Follow a stone wall until it goes over a bank or into a swampy area. Look for old metal buckets and enamelware sticking out of the ground and start digging.

I find my bottles in dump sites in forest preserves. When they tear down houses on land that is newly made into forest preserve property (at least around here) they just seem to leave all the junk from the house in piles in the woods. The ones near me aren't even buried or anything...
Heres a couple of examples of what I find...

Another good place... depending on the kind of work you're willing to do for the sake of the bottle... is old torn down farm sites. I prefer freshly demolished myself, but if you're into the whole digging thing I would imagine even a site that was demolished years ago would have stuff underground. I've found sooo much junk (bottles, old toys, farm tools, ext.) at these sites, its insane! Even burnt out sites have a lot of hidden, unburnt treasures.
Heres an example... They tore down the house and back building, and used the barn as a practice fire for the local FD.

Oh... and they're not always newer bottles. I get a lot of 50's-60's bottles but I came across some nice 20's bottles at my last site.
