Pleasant surprise

Blade and I got out 1 day last week and did a hole that we knew wouldn't go pontil. figured maybe late 1860's or 70's. Maybe get lucky and get some smooth base sodas. It was a big surprise when this popped up out of the layer. Definitely a late throw.

That is nice. I would give my left bolt to find a hole with something like that in it.

We learned that you have to dig the newer holes, not just the old ones. [] Pictures don't do this bottle enough justice.
