Looking at your jelly jar it certainly turn of the century,and machine made dottle.They used a lot of magnesium to make the bottle in clear glass.After 100 years in the Sun they start to turn sun color purple.The lip is a crimp type lip to hold on a pry open lid!

Thanks, K6TIM. I've dug quite a few of them. Most have nothing on the base. This one intrigued me because of the patent info. Thanks for weighing in!
